PREP & POST TAN
1-2 days Before:
Use an exfoliant mitt or glove to exfoliate your skin 24-48 hours before your tan. Avoid loofahs because they do not remove dead skin cells and salt/sugar scrubs because they may leave an oil residue on the skin. After exfoliating, apply a lotion.
Shave at least 8 hours before your tan, and wax at least 24 hours before the tan. Pedi/mani, massages, and facials are completed the day before your tan appointment. We don’t want any oils or barriers on your skin.
Make sure your body soaps, such as Dove, Dial, and bar soaps, do not contain sulfates. These products deplete your skin’s natural oils, resulting in an uneven tan.
On the day of your appointment:
Rinse off any residue left on your skin, such as deodorant, sweat, makeup, perfumes, and so on. When you arrive for an appointment, you should have nothing on your skin. We cannot guarantee an even tan if something is on your skin. Wear dark, loose-fitting clothing, such as sweatpants, to your appointment. NO JEANS OR LEGGINGS.
What should I wear while tanning? Women, You can wear whatever you want, including a swimsuit, bra and underwear, or nothing at all. You will have tan lines if you wear something while tanning. Undergarments are required for men.
After the appointment:
Avoid getting wet, such as washing your hands or sweating, as this will remove the tan. Wear loose-fitting clothing; wearing a bra may result in a tan line. Hydrate! We don’t want parched skin!
Sleep in long-sleeved shirts and pants to keep the tan from transferring to your sheets and to avoid sweating from skin-to-skin contact.
First Rinse:
After tanning:
Apply a mineral oil-free lotion morning and night until your tan fades. This prolongs the life of your tan and keeps your skin moisturized. Avoid saunas, hot tubs, chlorine, long hot showers, and exfoliating your skin.
